Knowing God

It’s different from knowing about Him…

It’s like…

Getting to know about a friend…

And knowing a friend…

The former sentence put you in a position whereby: the subject is just an acquaintance.

But the latter transformed the subject as your comrade.

That is two very contrasting statements…

When you know about someone,

It tells people that you only get to see them on the surface…

But insufficient to understand their history…

When you know someone (eliminate the ‘about’)

You know more than just the surface of their crazy personality,

But you also understood why they have become who they are today…

That gives you the privilege to see the truth within them….

Knowing God is the exactly the same…

You need to study the bible very thoroughly to understand why He is who He is…

Describing His personality and etc is just a starting point,

And that’s what we stated as ‘knowing about Him’

And honestly speaking,
Most of us are already there…

We know what He is like and etc...

But do we really know Him?

Some people described Him as an angry man that cast fire on the bush…

Some people said He is jealous person…

Some people said this and that…

While I cannot go against those statements because it is clearly written in the bible,

I daresay tho….

There is a valid reason behind all these…

Do you know God as you claim you do in the bible?

I dare not claim I know Him entirely – just yet….

But I knew sufficiently that knowing God is definitely an everyday process…

It’s a relationship with my Heavenly Father….

It’s just like having a relationship with another human being…

It takes time to know a person deep down inside….

And having a relationship isn’t just about describing their personalities…

But rather, connecting with them from the inside out…

I tell you what it is like to have a relationship with someone else…

I am sure you will recognised all these within your loved ones too…

Having a relationship with someone is like…

Knowing what they think before they even say it…

Feeling them even when they aren’t physically there at all…

Sharing the same thoughts and mindset even when it is supposedly a ‘coincident’…

Being able to tell when things happened to them even when it hasn’t happened just yet!

It’s the unbreakable bondage…

It doesn’t matter the distance, space and time…

You just know that the connection is there – all the way!

So it is like that with knowing God…

You can feel Him…

You know He is there even when physically He is not!

You know what He is thinking before something happen…

It certainly sounds physic but it is not…

That’s because you already have a relationship with Him…

You don’t need to describe His personality to anyone else to know about Him…

Nor do you need a book to tell you all about God…

You just need to develop and have a loving, caring, humble, kind and joyous relationship with Him to know Him…

So that's that's the great difference between know 'about' God and knowing God...

Knowing 'about' God is just a description of Him...

Knowing God is to have an intimate relationship with Him...

Humanly Love vs Godly Love

Humanly Love = selfish, full of Term & Condition and lots of expectations

Godly Love = love without any conditions, and without any expectation.

Humanly Love…

You love someone because you wanted something out of them…

You expect them to buy you a house, a car, be filthy rich and take you round the world…

But when they cannot afford to fulfill any one of those criteria(s),

You are done with loving them…

In your eyes,

Love = fulfilling your personal dreams and desire…

It’s all about you!

Never once about the person you love…

It’s a very selfish and completely self-centered!

Humanly love,

It’s all about materials….

Never once about other people’s feelings…

If you buy me a BMW,

I will love you,

If you buy me a mansion,

I will marry you…

If you intend to sleep in the tent,

You are best to sleep by yourself because I rather not be seen like a homeless shack…

Humanly Love people are the people that God will never take in kindly…

Trust me,

You will find yourself full of people who think highly of themselves and nothing about you…

Then one day when you need help…

You get no help at all because people who are full of themselves isn’t going to come down to your level and help you in any occasion…

Remember: They are only in your life when you have something to offer them and NOT vice versa…

But when you have something to offer,

They will immediately glue to you until they got exactly what they wanted and you are in for the worst!

These are the people that you want to be cautions as you don’t know what they might do to you.

Whereas Godly love is of a completely different story…

Godly love is pure and sincere…

They don’t need materials from you except that you love them completely from the inside out…

Godly love has no greed…

They don’t care if they have to sleep under the tent with you for a lifetime…

Or even living from paycheck to paycheck…

They don’t care if travel is only within local region and nowhere further than that…

To them, travel is not about the destination but the journey in itself…

Travel is with someone they loved and it’s by foot that discover hidden corners than by plane and only looking at clouds!

Godly love doesn’t ask for a house/ car/ money…

Neither do they ask if someone should change for them…

But rather they, the lover, willingly change for the love of their life…

Godly love is also uniquely spiritual...

They force you to move forward on your own...

Rather than giving you exactly want you want...

Godly love is about teaching you how to fish so that you can survive for life

Rather than giving you a fish and you only can live for a day...

Godly love is all about giving… And never once thought about receiving…

Remember: God gives His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross so that we can be saved!

By right, we should be the one that die on the cross…

By right we should be the one that take up our own punishment…

Yet, thru God’s love, we were saved by His precious Son…

He gives and gives and gives…

And we, the selfish humans, take and take and take….

Until we take God’s love for granted and forgot to show appreciation…

Godly love willing sacrifices

They don’t ask for materialism except a beautiful loving relationship…

It is such simple act that even a baby is able to manifest by themselves…

Yet as we grow up,

It became a challenge display such purity of love…

Godly love….

Doesn’t requires you to be filthy rich/ handsome/ talented/ intelligence…

It doesn’t requires you to own a house/ car/ assets…

It just needs you to love completely in return…

It just needs you to be kind, humble, gentle, and loving….

It just needs you to be happy and joyful in all circumstances…

Godly love is an amazing journey shared by everyone around them…

It is something that money cannot buy….

Because it requires you to love with your whole heart and soul…

And the love that you offers enhance the beauty to and from those around you…

That’s why humanly love and godly love is so different!

You cannot love a person completely when you only eye on their asset…

But you can love them fully if you are more than willing to go the extra miles with them…

Remember: If you intend to love because you wanted a house/ car/ money….

You will soon find yourself in trouble…

Because having a house/ car/ wealth is just temporary…

Sooner or later, you will lose out the most crucial thing in life - Pure love…

Then when you seek for help,

Those who helps you will only help within their ability…

And not within your desire…

Humanly Love = selfish, full of Term & Condition and lots of expectations, only for personal greed

Godly Love = love without any conditions, and without any expectation and purely from the heart, soul and mind… To help all those around to love others deeply...

Be good...

... to yourself...

Before you can be good to others...

I am not asking you to be selfish...
I am just asking you to be nice to yourself before you expect others to be nice to you...
and I am asking you to be nice to yourself so that you know how to be nice to others as well...

Remember:
While you think you are important,
So does everyone else think themselves important...

While there are people who think they are worthless...
There are more people who think they are worth a zillion pounds.

Where do you allocate yourself then?
Worthless or worthy?

I don't judge myself on either end...
That's God's duty...

My duty is to be good to myself and to those around me...

If I cannot be nice to people,
I knew that I will get the same treatment in return...
It's just the matter of time until someone ditch me back to my face...

A great lesson learn...
Kindness doesn't make you a pure saint...
It is just to make the world a better place...

Why do you want to cause more chaos than it already is?
Just be good and loving...

While nobody will remember to thank you for being good to them...
Trust me,
You will thank yourself for being good to yourself and others...

At least you can sleep peacefully...
Knowing that...
You have no loan...
You have no grudges...
You have no hatred...
And you have no anger...

Then,
You will be more than willing to leave the world tomorrow...
If God will to collect you early...
At least you don't have to say...
"I still have lots to do yet..."
Because your duty is already done...
When you are doing good to others... and give them the smile of the day...

Secret keeping...

There are some secrets that are meant to be kept...
No matter how difficult it is to keep...

Only God and I know it...
We don't split...
Unless it is necessary to manoeuvre things around...
If not,
It is just between He and I....

Mouth zip...

Be an example....

Words mean nothing...
If your action shows otherwise...

If you want followers....
Be a model example...
Model doesn't require words...
But their actions tell it all...

Serving God...

Believe it or not...
We are living in the world full of selfishness...
Everything is all about 'ME-first'...

It's true that we should take care of ourselves before we can even extend our hospitality towards others....
But most of us has taken it way further than what is necessary to equip ourselves...

Serving God, on the other hand, is a kind of a reverse to what the world is doing today...

If you ever wonder how is it like to serve God then read on...

Have you ever pick up someone's garbage and throw into the bin for them even when they continuously litter at the pavement?
Have you ever take the time to give someone a hand when things got out of control even though you are actually in a hurry?

You see,
We live in the world whereby we jam-packed our schedule...
We run from place to place.
We hardly ever stop for a minute to actually enjoy the journey...
Nor even take the time out to greet strangers along the way...
We are so walled up that we don't even know who our neighbours are...

Today, we are looking to become a leader...
We expect people to vote for us so that we can reign above everyone else....
But the truth is....
We don't even know how to lead in the first place...
We don't even know how to connect with people at all...
But we all want the upper role...
We want to be the front liner yet don't even know what is what to begin with...
Yet expecting people to follow our leadership?
What sort of leadership are we trying to display then?

That's why God has told us times and times to serve...

Serving is NOT about telling people that you are the King and you ought to be served!
Serving is about coming down to the very bottom of your personal expectation and to be a servant to others...

Serving is about...
Rolling up your sleeves and help to wash dishes whether or not anybody is doing it...

Serving is about...
Picking up garbage as you walk home and then throw it all into the appropriate bin regardless to who litter the place...

Serving is about...
Helping an old lady carry her heavy books to the car while on a walk to your destination.

All of these are done unnoticed by others...
But really only our Heavenly Father knows it all...

Serving is not about questioning who should do this and that....
It's about - let's us ALL help out as much as we can...

Serving doesn't even need us to be a maid/ janitor/ slave...
It is about the heart...
YOUR heart for God...

Don't be a spoil-brat/ suck-up goat saying...
"I am a doctor/ lawyer/ engineer therefore I deserve to do higher stuff than picking rubbish/ washing dishes..."

If everyone were to say the same thing,
Then you will be living in the world full of rubbishes and dirty dishes...
You will be living in the world full of insects and sickness...
And trust me...
You will be filled with loads of sickness and disease before you even enjoy your career in fullness...

Therefore be humble and learn to serve...

God didn't ask you to be a doctor to put others down...
He told you to serve others even when it's a minor task...

Jesus is the leader...
Yet he came to serve...

He did not recognised Himself as the leader even when His disciple said He is one...
Yet He humbly washed His disciples feet when none of them ever think of doing it for one another until He told them to do as that...
He talked to the poorest of the poor and the wealthiest man ever...
To Him,
All are the same...
Just like you and me...
When He doesn't even need to do as that...

He feed the hungry ones...
And comfort the depressed ones...
Even when he does come across hunger and sadness Himself...
Yet, He pushed all His personal anguish aside to serve others with all his heart and soul...

So what are we compare to Him?
Yes, He is God's son...
But aren't we God's children as well?

Why become the leader when we refuse to humble ourselves?
Why

The word 'HUMBLE' means being submissive or meek....
Submissive to things that are way below our personal category...
Meek on things that are way beneath our personal expectation...

The word GENTLE means kind and sweet or tender...
Kind to someone who is not of your type...
Sweet to people who are of totally different character/ personality of you...
Tender to those need more love than you could ever bargain yourselves...

Fight the good fight!

God's plan doesn't change...
It's the circumstances that change...

When trouble comes....
We often wonder if God is ever with us...

We feel like we have been battling with ourselves and our surrounding for life...
Even if it is just a short time...

I remember God used to tell me that I was supposed to be at some place doing something for him...
But here I am,
Struggling from thousands of miles away from the place that I am supposed to be...
And being unlike someone that God wanted me to be...

Crazy, isn't it?
It's like God suddenly change His tune without informing us...

But the truth is:
God didn't change His plan!
It is the circumstances that takes us round the bush!
In a brutal statement: Satan is at work!

Satan knows our plan just as much as God does...
He knows that we wanted to fulfill God's work...
And so he is stirring up trouble and making it difficult for us to move forward...
Most people would have given up by now....
But only the strong ones know that Satan will soon give up before them...
because God is TRUE... He will keep His Words!

As 1 Timothy 6:12 said:

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Stand strong... Stay strong...
While everyone is being fearful,
We steadfast in prayer being faithful....

There is hope...

As the saying goes: "Every clouds has a sliver lining." 

Do not be despair... If God is for US - so who can come against us?

…is where the heart is…

It is a place where hospitality never wears out…

There is always smile at the door when you step into the house…

And even if anger roars within the room,

You know you still belong to such a place…

Nobody can kick you out regardless to circumstances…

It is a place whereby you can leave your hat on the table and remove your mask…

You can stop playing pretend…

You don’t have to win favouritism…

You don’t have to be someone else…

You just be you…

It is the place for you to grow…

You learn to develop your character behind closed door…

All your mocking and scolding are hidden from public eyes…

While you are being trained to be a better person…

Before you reveal the end result to the society…

It is a place where you can do whatever you want...

Without fearing of naysayers…

Your home is the first place that see your million mistakes…

Before you dare to show your special ability to the world,

It is a place where you can be who you are…

You can hug your soft toys even at old age,

You can talk to the walls without fearing of being laughed at…

You can waltz across the room without having anybody calling you 'insane'…

You can hold the hairbrush and sing in your cocky voice and nobody will judge you…

It’s a place whereby it is more than just the roof, four walls, doors and windows…

It is a place of love and comfort…

It is a place that you can come home to when there is nowhere else to go to…

It is the place where you feel belong…

It is the place whereby you know you can never do without…

It is the place whereby your soul find peace…

It is the place whereby… you don’t feel like leaving anymore…

And that’s permanent…

That’s home…
